This is what our back garden looks like in the Spring, April through early June. This was a great year for cactus blooms.

The cactus with huge white blooms is an Argentinian Saguaro. The blooms only last a day opening in the afternoon and last through the next morning, fading rapidly starting about noon.
This next image was taken mid-morning after cloud rolled in, so no harsh shadows. We had 42 blooms open simultaneously last year. This year had three distinct waves.

The third image is from sunset, and below another sunrise image.

The next image is at sunrise looking back towards our house.

Argentinian saguaros also come in yellow and pink. Here’s a yellow one.

We border BLM property. The hill in the background below is BLM. It has hiking and biking trails.
We have roses many kinds of cacti, penstemon, perky sues, lavender, and salvia.

Lights go on at dusk casting some interesting shadows of our ocotillos on our back retaining wall.

Those interested in my equipment and recommendations can find it here: Mish’s Equipment List.
My previous post, Mish’s Garden Part One, was from our front garden.
My next post will also be from our garden. It will spotlight closeups of cactus blooms.
