Rachel moved back to Aurora to help her parents with their bakery. She is also nursing her heartache too after her ex Kyle cheated on her. Now she has no interest in dating. Her best friend Jae has something else in mind for Rachel, especially when she meets Nick. Nick is a firefighter in town. But Jae doesn’t know about Rachel’s history with Nick and Nick thinks Rachel hates him. Jae signs them up to help with the fundraiser at the firehouse and it forces Rachel and Nick to work closely together. As they spend time together, feelings come up. But can Rachel ever learn to trust again? Does she hate Nick from something that happened in their past?

This book is so cute! It’s one that really makes you swoon and smile from ear to ear. It’s a he falls first (and hard), cinnamon roll MMC, forced proximity, small town romance and I was here for all of it.

MOST of the characters in this book are so loveable. Nick was fantastic. He was so sweet and so understanding. Rachel was a great character too. I could understand where she was coming from with her thought patterns throughout the book. And while I loved these two main characters, and I loved them together, Jae won me over! She was funny, witty, and a fantastic side character. The little plot that she came up with was fun and funny. I love how confident and strong she is – not taking any B.S.

Winters is a new to me author. I really enjoyed her writing style. The book flowed easily and her writing was easy to read. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series, and I will be go back and read other books by this author.

This is out now, and it’s on KU, so check it out!
